Michelangelo’s David

The creation of the David was a colossal undertaking.

In 1501 Michelangelo accepted the challenge of working on the project of the statue using a fragile and bad block of marble. After three years of work, in 1504, Michelangelo showed to the world his masterpiece.

Since 1872, the David is placed in the Academy Gallery.
